High School Science Teacher

Lighthouse Learning Center is a new school seeking a High School Science Teacher to join our learning leader’s community beginning in the 2025–2026 school year. We are interested in qualified teachers who understand how our vision aligns with the times and who want to be part of our school’s continued growth and expansion.
Learning leaders serve first as a Christian example of the life of Jesus Christ, and secondly as educational leaders, responsible for upholding biblical principles and procedures related to students’ Christian growth and academic achievement.
Leadership Criteria
- -Mission, vision, doctrines, and philosophy aligned with the school.
- -Ability to articulate a clear and vibrant Christian testimony.
- -Willingness to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- -Strong oral and written communication skills.
- -Passion for young people and a desire to inspire eternal change through the Holy Spirit.
- -Dedication to the eternal cause of Christ in saving others.
General Qualifications
- -Bachelor’s degree in the subject or a related field (required).
- -Minimum of 3 years teaching experience (preferred).
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- -Begin and end every class with prayer.
- -Fulfill all curriculum obligations using the Bible and best educational practices.
- -Develop, plan, and execute lesson plans and subject guides.
- -Perform labs as required by the subject.
- -Follow FERPA guidelines for student confidentiality.
- -Maintain high academic expectations for all students.
- -Uphold the Christian culture of the school.
- -Support the school’s mission, values, and statement of faith.
- -Collaborate with other staff members.
- -Attend meetings and participate in non-teaching duties as assigned by the principal/director.
- -Comply with policies and procedures as outlined in:
- +Parent/Student Handbook
- +Employee Handbook
- +Course Selection Guides for High School
- +Emergency Operations Manual
- +Other relevant documents
- -Serve on school development and special activity committees.
- -Assume leadership roles in worship, Week of Prayer planning, and Team Thursdays.
- -Fulfill assigned duties positively (e.g., lunchroom supervision, bulletin boards).
- -Communicate with parents through report cards, records, phone calls, and progress reports.
Required Spiritual Qualities
- -Acknowledge Christ as Savior and live as His disciple.
- -Accept the Bible as the inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God.
- -Be a Christian role model in both public and private life—in attitude, dress, speech, and actions.
- -Maintain an active and persistent prayer life.
Required Background Checks
- -All staff must complete fingerprinting and background checks.
